December 2006 - Lacy Heuston
Lacy attends TCTC to receive training to work as a receptionist in a doctor's office where she hopes to work in some way with pregnant women. She is involved in the Business Professionals of America serving as President; is a SPCA volunteer, and worked on the fundraiser for the March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon. Lacy has a bright outlook to the future and hopes to have a family someday.
November 2006 - Tina Oyer
Tina is the mother of two children and enjoys riding her motorcycle and has recently taken up stock car racing. She is active in the Business Professionals of America serving as Vice President, is a SPCA volunteer, and was active in the Toy Run of Nowata that benefitted the Boys and Girls Club of Nowata. Tina is also attending night school to obtain her GED and wants to pass on the importance of education to her children. She believes, "You can't do anything about your past, but you can about your future."
October 2006 - Amber Blevins
Amber lives in Bartlesville and works at Pizza Hut while not attending the Health Information classes at TCTC. While in high school Amber was a member of the FCCLA, Spanish Club and the Big Red Pride Marching Band. She has participated in the March of Dimes Walk, donated items to the SPCA and helps a friend with his coin collection. Her future plans and goals are to be in the National Honor Society and work in a doctor’s office following her graduation from TCTC.
September 2006 - Corrina Martin
Corrina is a student in the Health Information Services course at Tri County Technology Center. She lives in Bartlesville and has one son and one daughter. Corrina enjoys fishing in her spare time. She says her reason for attending TCTC is to receive training for a job she will enjoy, and to make a better life for herself and her children. Corrina would like to work in a doctor’s office upon completion of her course work at TCTC.
May 2006 - Angela Bonham
Angela graduated from Ponca City High School in 2003. She now lives in Skiatook and has an internship with Dr. Williams. While attending Tri County Technology Center, she also worked part time at a business in Skiatook. Angela was the high school football manager for four years and was on the honor roll all through high school. She volunteered as a “reader/listener” during her senior year in high school and was a teacher assistant during the summer church program for two years. Angela’s future plans are to work in the medical field.
April 2006 - Sarah Hood
Sarah is a 2005 graduate of Bartlesville High School. She lives in Bartlesville with her parents and has one brother. In addition to attending Tri County Technology Center, she works as a waitress at the Hillcrest Country Club and is now doing her internship with Paul Hood. Sarah qualified for Nationals in Computerized Accounting. While in high school, she was a member of the band and Color Guard and danced for 11 years for the Bartlesville Civic Ballet. Sarah’s future plans are to attend school in the fall or spring and obtain her Bachelors or Masters in Accounting.
March 2006 - Heather Brown-Gibson
Heather lives in Bartlesville and has a two-year-old son. She attended the State Competition and placed first in Medical Office Procedures and third in Advanced Office Systems and Procedures. She competed in the National Competition in Orlando, FL. Heather attends St. John's Catholic Church. She plans to pursue a career in medical transcription.
February 2005 - Heidi Sanders
Heidi is enrolled in the Health Information course. In addition to school, she works part-time at the Copan Restaurant and stays busy taking care of her son. She enjoys reading in her spare time and is a member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church. Heidi plans to take online courses at Coffeyville Community College to obtain her Applied Science degree. Her future plans are to stay in the medical field working in transcription or coding.
January 2006 - JoAnn Gillispie
JoAnn is married with four children and was a stay-at-home mom until all of her children reached school age. She worked at a convenience store for two years before deciding to attend Tri County Technology Center. JoAnn's other activities include 4-H Horse Club, missionary support, prison fellowship, school PTO projects and gardening. She wants to work in a small office or keep books for a ranch.
December 2005 - Michelle Hightower
Michelle is a single mother of three children. She attended one year at TCC and is now attending TCTC studying business and health. Michelle is a member of Business Professionals of America serving as Secretary. She also has a Work Study job at TCTC. Upon graduating, she plans to find gainful employment in the medical field using her front office skills that will allow her to attend OSU Tulsa to obtain an Associates Degree in Business. In her extra time she likes to read and write, but especially enjoys involvement with her children's activities.
November 2005 - Tammy White
Tammy is married and the mother of two children. She attends TCTC as a way to be re-educated to reenter the workforce. Tammy is a member of Business Professionals of America and is the Activities Chair. She is studying Microsoft Office and Business Communication with a goal of becoming a CPA. She plans to accept employment using accounting and bookkeeping. Tammy feels it is important that people know that no matter what your circumstances, there is always something you can do. When she has time, she enjoys reading and doing needlework.
October 2005 - Sirena Frakes
Sirena is the mother of two children and works full time at Atwoods while also attending TCTC. She has worked retail for 18 years and has managed numerous departments, stores and employees. Sirena decided to go back to school in order to learn new things and become prepared for a new rewarding and lasting career. Following her graduation from TCTC she plans to work for a doctor and then go into nursing, working toward becoming an RN. Sirena enjoys spending time with her family.
September 2005 - Jeri Devitt
Jeri is a student in the BCT Accounting course at TCTC and is serving as BPA President. Her interests include outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking. She does volunteer work through her church and is a Bruins football mom. Jeri's future plans are to obtain her Associates Degree and work in the accounting field.
May 2005 - Jonnie Larsen
Jonnie is a student in the BCT Accounting course at Tri County Technology Center. She is vice president of the BPA and serves on all four committees at TCTC. She placed in the top 10 at State for three different tests. Jonnie will begin her studies at RSU on June 1 and is working towards a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and minoring in Business Administration. She hopes to own her own CPA firm within the next ten years. Jonnie’s interests and hobbies include riding bikes with her two year old son, reading, and watching movies.
April 2005 - Debra Denny
Debra is a student in the BCT medical information course at TCTC. She is a member of the BPA and the Community Service Committee which took part in a food drive and volunteering at Fantasyland of Lights among other things. She will graduate in May and she plans to be a medical transcriptionist and work from her home. Debra has five children and five grandsons. She enjoys dancing, gardening, camping, fishing, reading and cooking.
March 2005 - Amanda Stillwell
Amanda is a newlywed and she and her husband live in Ramona. She will graduate from TCTC in May and then plans to go to Coffeyville Community College to obtain her Associates Degree in Applied Science. Amanada is an Ambassador at TCTC, is chairperson of the Professional Development Committee and is a member of the Activities Committee. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys reading and relaxing. She plans to have a career as an administrative assistant.
February 2005 - Crystal Vick
Crystal is furthering her education at Tri County Technology Center following her graduation last year from Bartlesville High School. She is working to complete Business and Computer Technology with an emphasis on Accounting. Her future plans include attending Bartlesville Wesleyan University and working toward a B.A. degree. During her senior year in high school she attended TCTC and served as Vice President of BPA and was in the Ambassadors Club. She is currently serving BPA as Treasurer. Along with her studies at TCTC, Crystal is employed at Mark Roberts Motors as the evening cashier. She attends Happy Hill Church and is active on the drama team. Crystal attended the State Contest in Okmulgee and placed third in Database Applications and Sixth in Computerized Accounting (Peachtree).
January 2005- Mary Ernest
Mary is a single parent of two children and has two granddaughters and two step-grandsons. Prior to attending TCTC she was employed for 17 years with the Caney Valley High School in Caney, KS. During that time she was a member of the KS Food Service Association, KS Senior Rodeo Association, KS Invitational Old Timers Rodeo Association, and she is currently a member of the Tyro Christian Church where she assisted with the Carnival and Show-D-O, and continues to work in the Wee Worship and Nursery. Mary is very dedicated to her education with a good attendance and high grade point average. Her plans include completing her education thereby enabling her to work in a medical office and within five years being self-employed as a medical transcriptionist. Mary attended the State Contest in Okmulgee and placed fourth in Word Processing and fifth in Medical Office Procedure.
December 2004 - Charla Fasking
Charla is married and is the mother of two children. Prior to attending TCTC as a full time student, she devoted herself to raising her family and assisting her husband in his business. She is a member of Business Professionals of America serving as Historian and is also participating in the TCTC Ambassador Club. Charla has perfect attendance and a high grade point average. She is working toward certification that will prepare her to work at an investment firm assisting a financial advisor. She also wants to help people with budgeting, etc.
November 2004 - Linda Wright
Linda has two children, eight grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, and is the Parliamentarian of TCTC’s Business Professionals of America (BPA). She is currently taking the Medical Health Information course at TCTC. Linda was born in California and moved to Bartlesville to live closer to her children. She managed a home business for approximately 10 years, worked as a clerk at Wal-Mart for two years and managed the Day Old Bread Store for Rainbow Bread before deciding to return to school. Following her graduation from TCTC, she plans to find something she’s good at and can take pride in and enjoy. Linda enjoys spending time with her family.
October 2004 - Roberta Grein
Roberta is married and the mother of two teenagers. Prior to her employment she was a stay-at-home mom. She is now a full-time employee at Silverlake Nursing Center, attends TCTC full time and maintains a high grade point average too. Roberta is taking the Health program and after completion of her courses wants to work in the medical field in a business position as well as working as a CNA.
September 2004 - Dawn McNiell
Dawn is a single mother of three children, and a member of TCTC's Business Professionals of America serving as President. Dawn attended one year each at Oklahoma State University and Northern Arizona University and is currently taking Accounting Services at TCTC. For several years she resided in New York and worked for a law firm as an administrative assistant. Following her graduation from TCTC, she plans to work toward a Bachelor's Degree in Business Finance or Accounting. Dawn participates each year in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event and has been active in the school where her children attend. Dawn attended the State Contest in Okmulgee and placed first in Advanced Word Proacessing, second in Spreadsheet Applications, fourth in Parliamentary Procedure and in the top ten in Human Resources Concepts. She attended the BPA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA, and placed sixth in Word Processing Skills.
